Brenda Chandler

As the school counselor, I work with all students to help develop their academic, social, and emotional skills.  I do this through classroom guidance lessons, small groups, and individual counseling.  We work on understanding our own feelings and the feelings of others, friendship skills, setting goals, career education, and much more.  Students can refer themselves to see me.  Parents/guardians or teachers can also refer students to me.  I also consult with parents, teachers, and administrators to help meet the needs of students.

About me:

I have worked at NLE since 2000 and have been the school counselor since 2007.  I have a specialist degree in school counseling from the University of West Alabama.  My greatest joy as a school counselor is being able to watch our students learn and grow.  When I'm not at school, I love to spend time with my husband Ronnie and my daughters Iris and Briley.
